Born in the third century, Eugenia was a Roman noble whose conversion came through the two chamberlains managing her estate. 

Hyacinth and Protus were brothers who lived among the hermits of Egypt in the third century and they were also her personal attendants. 

Devoted Christians, Protus and Hyacinth read from Sacred Scripture every day. Eventually, Eugenia followed their example and was Baptized as a Christian herself. 

But this was a dangerous time to be a Christian because it was during the persecution of Valerian. 

Upon discovering her conversion, Eugenia’s fiance reported all three of them to the Roman authorities and they were arrested and condemned. 

She, along with Protus and Hyacinth, were martyred. 

Their Feast Day is September 11.
