Holiness and Constant Prayer
Our sainthood depends on our tur...
Born in Poland at the end of the 14th century he was a brilliant student. At a young age, he attended Krakow Academy where he earned his Doctorate in Philosophy. Then, John gave his life to The Lord, becoming a priest. After his ordination, he earned another Doctorate in Theology and taught at the Krakow Academy.
But John had a gift for the sciences as well, and his insights into physics would go on to aid the future work of Galileo and Newton.
However, John had rivals, who, for a time, succeeded in driving him out of the Academy and into life as a parish priest.
Initially, he struggled, but before long his parishioners came to love him and he became an outstanding Pastor. Eventually, John was called back to the Academy of Krakow where he taught scripture for the rest of his life.
He died in 1473 at the age of 83.
