St. Rafael is sent by God as a guide for Tobias and Tobit because The Lord is so moved by their great charity, St. Gabriel appears to The Blessed Mother Announcing that, with her consent, she will conceive and bear The Saviour of mankind. He also explains to Daniel that the vision he has just seen refers to the end of time.
St. Michael is mentioned five times in scripture, including in the Book of Daniel, when he is assigned Protector of Israelites, “At that time there shall arise, Michael, the great prince, guardian of your people; It shall be a time unsurpassed in distress since the nation began until that time. At that time your people shall escape, everyone who is found written in the book.”
On October 13th, 1884, Pope Leo XIII had just finished celebrating mass when he had a vision which frightened him to the core, of the future and the terror that demons would bring upon the world, upon The Church, prompting him to write the prayer of St. Michael.
And today, we will hear in The Book of Revelation, that St. Michael and his angels defeated satan and his demons, throwing them out of heaven, onto the earth,
“Now have salvation and power come and the Kingdom of our God and the authority of his Anointed. For the accuser of our brothers is cast out.
